Giles Corey is an amazing character for many reasons. One of the most contributing factors to this is because he is take his mental strength over pain its self to keep from confessing to this lie. I believe that the thing that kept Giles going was his pride/ego. I say this because the male ego is an incredible thing. He truely showed his strengths can go farthur than you could every believe. If i were put in the sistuation in which i convicted and sentenced to death than, i would die for it would be for my family. Theirs nothing i wouldnt do for them.
As I stated above that if i were put in that situation i believe that my ego as well would help me trumendously in over coming any all physical pain. This is truely putting mind over matter.

poetic devices!
What poetic devices does Miller use to convey the overwhelming emotion of the meeting between Elizabeth and Proctor in Act IV? This scene is found on pages 58-60. When in your life have you been overwhelmed with emotion?
In the meeting between Elizabeth and Proctor in Act IV their are many emotions being conveyed in such a short period of time. Miller tries to express these emotions thru metephores. For example when the two of them are discussing those that are standing trial for witch craft, Proctor asks about gils and elizabeth says "Great stones they lay upon his chest until he pleaded aye or ney. Whit a tender smile for the old man: they say he give them but two words. "more weight," he say. And died." (miller, 59.4.).
In my life i was overwhelmed with emotion when i was younger and i had to go to a funneral. It was the first one i had been too and unfortunnetly it wouldnt be the last. Standing at the coughfen with a lifeless stare in the inevidable i was ,as if it were punched into my head, hit with every emotion. I was happy their suffering was over, mad they left, sad the were gone, ect.

who?
What character do you identify with the most.
-use quotes to support your responce.
-with whom does miller most identify with?
-use a quote to support you responce.
While reading The Crucible i have relized that i relate most with Danforth. I believe that i connect with him the most because he seems to be a guy to just looking for the truth where it cant be found or hidden. In the story Danforth is the judge over seeing the trials regarding to the accused witches. I see myself in his place alot because not only do i choose right and wrong for my self, i tend to be dragged to arguments and help reach an answer. The qoute that i believe can truely decribe the connection would be when Danforth says "The pure in heart need no lawyer, Proceed as you will." (miller,42. 3). This quote is saying really if your honest you have nothing to worry about and i'd like to think that, that represents me rather well. i always try to be honest with everyone and i expect the same in return. That something Danforth and myself have in common.
In this story everbody can connect with somebody. So that makes you stop and think that what about Miller. Who does he connect with. I think that he would agree with me when i say that he connects with Proctor the most. I think this would be because just like Proctor, Miller was accused of something he was doing or supporting. Only the words of others where believed over his and got him in trouble. Only Millers trial was dismissed. "Their be no love for satan in this house." (miller, 32. 2.). Proctor is be cencer hear but his statemnt is over seen.

why should they be afraid? 10/7/20
During Act III Danford repeatly says that the good have nothing to fear. what evidence can you give that proves the opposite? Does Danford's statement apply to today and/or your life?
In Act III of the Crucible Danford expresses that he feels that the good have nothing to fear. Well if you pay close attention to the story you can clearly see that anyone was willing to sell each other out as lond as it ment they would stay safe in god's light. on page 44 DAnford says "No uncorrupted man may fear this court, Mr. Hale! None! To Giles. You are under arrest in contempt of this court. now sit you down and take counsel with yourself, or you will be set in jail until you decide to answer all questions."(miller p.44,3)
This quote is mainly stating that even though this man is deciding to take his rights and not answer the questions of the court. so in agrrivation the court holds him in contempt. This may seem firmiliar becuase you see this everywhere. For example look in the media any thing that goes wrong, politicaly/war, is instantly that presidents fault. Also on a smaller scale if something were to happen in this class room it would be the teachers fault even if their wasnt anything she could do.
