Giles Corey is an amazing character for many reasons. One of the most contributing factors to this is because he is take his mental strength over pain its self to keep from confessing to this lie. I believe that the thing that kept Giles going was his pride/ego. I say this because the male ego is an incredible thing. He truely showed his strengths can go farthur than you could every believe. If i were put in the sistuation in which i convicted and sentenced to death than, i would die for it would be for my family. Theirs nothing i wouldnt do for them.
As I stated above that if i were put in that situation i believe that my ego as well would help me trumendously in over coming any all physical pain. This is truely putting mind over matter.
