who?

What character do you identify with the most.

-with whom does miller most identify with?
-use a quote to support you responce.

While reading The Crucible i have relized that i relate most with Danforth. I believe that i connect with him the most because he seems to be a guy to just looking for the truth where it cant be found or hidden. In the story Danforth is the judge over seeing the trials regarding to the accused witches. I see myself in his place alot because not only do i choose right and wrong for my self, i tend to be dragged to arguments and help reach an answer. The qoute that i believe can truely decribe the connection would be when Danforth says "The pure in heart need no lawyer, Proceed as you will." (miller,42. 3). This quote is saying really if your honest you have nothing to worry about and i'd like to think that, that represents me rather well. i always try to be honest with everyone and i expect the same in return. That something Danforth and myself have in common.

In this story everbody can connect with somebody. So that makes you stop and think that what about Miller. Who does he connect with. I think that he would agree with me when i say that he connects with Proctor the most. I think this would be because just like Proctor, Miller was accused of something he was doing or supporting. Only the words of others where believed over his and got him in trouble. Only Millers trial was dismissed. "Their be no love for satan in this house." (miller, 32. 2.). Proctor is be cencer hear but his statemnt is over seen.

  1. David, great words about Proctor. Do you think that Danforth was truly looking for the truth or did he already have a preconceived idea about what the "truth" was and tried to find a way to get everyone else to fit into that?
